Chandeliers
A bouncing quarter, a circle of glasses, and one glass in the middle.
About the Game
Chandeliers is a variation of Quarters where players bounce a quarter toward a circle of individual glasses surrounding one large center glass.
Landing the quarter in another player's glass targets that player. Landing it in the center glass triggers a race for everyone around the table.
Setup
- Give each player a smaller glass.
- Arrange the individual glasses in a circle around the center of the table.
- Place one larger glass in the middle.
- Fill the glasses according to your group's chosen rules.
- Choose who goes first and have a quarter ready for bouncing.
How to Play
- Players take turns bouncing the quarter toward the glasses.
- If the quarter lands in a player's glass, that player is the target.
- If the quarter lands in the center glass, the center round begins.
- In the traditional version, everyone races to finish their drink and then places their empty glass upside down over their head.
- The last person to get their glass onto their head is the loser of the round.
The Center Glass
The center glass is the main event. When the quarter lands inside it, everyone participates in the center round.
In the traditional rules, the last person to place their empty glass upside down over their head has to drink the large center glass.
Orchard House safety rule: Nobody has to chug or drink the center glass. Use a nonalcoholic alternative, a point penalty, or another agreed-upon consequence instead. Never pour beer or other liquids over someone's head.
